We had five young ladies reconized for the All-District team this year.  Natalie Papini, Lauren Dorsett, and Amanda VanVranken were slected to the All-District team.  Breanna Zeis and Jordan Abell were selected to the second team All-District.   The Lady Blaze also had two individuals make the 7AAA  All-District tournament team.  Amanda VanVranken and Lauren Dorsett were selected by coaches at the conclusion of the tournament.  The Daily News Journal selected Natalie Papini (pitcher) and Lauren Dorsett (position player) as MVP’s.   The Middle Tennessee Softball Coaches Association selected Natalie Papini and Lauren Dorsett to play on the South squad in the Senior All-Star game to be held June 10, 2009 at Drakes Creek Park.  Lauren Dorsett and Amanda VanVranken were also selected to the All-Midstate First team by the Middle Tennessee Softball Coaches Association and will be honored between games on June 10, 2009 at Drakes Creek Park.  These girls were selected by Middle Tennessee area coaches.  Congratulations to all of these young ladies for their hard work and dedication to the Lady Blaze program.

Congratulations go out to Breanna Zeis who just signed to play softball at Trevecca University!  Bre has been a huge part of the Lady Blaze softball program for four years.  We now have three seniors going to continue their softball careers in college.

Blackman softball seniors, Natalie Papini and Lauren Dorsett, signed college scholarship papers at BHS yesterday afternoon.  Natalie will be attending and playing for Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN.  Lauren Dorsett will be attending and playing for Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN.  We are very proud of the accomplishments of both of these young ladies both off an on the field.  Natalie is one of the Valedictorians of the class of 2009.  Lauren is a National Honor Student.  Both of these ladies have done an awesome job over their four years representing the Lady Blaze Softball Program.  GOOD LUCK to both of you!
